Now answer me a question which shall be much of a reality check : has all your achievements been fruits of your expectations or some were utter bolts from the sky? Well, whatever be the answer, my point is a bit different from what I’ve just asked. There has been times in our lives when we have worked, real hard, toiled Day in and out for a certain something and have finally hit the bull’s eye. Those were the times when your success actually gave you the sweetness of being successful rather than the tang of sheer luck. But for most of us, those were also the times when our achievements were scrutinized the most by the general public… Sometimes, it’s just hard for people to accept the fact that you could build a fortress of your own. Then, they question. They question you, your abilities, your resources. And no matter how hard to try to reason out with them, they’ll eventually end conclusive with some caricatured answers. Sometimes they affect us, so much to an extent that we begin cross examining ourselves : did I really deserve it? Was it supposed to be me? .

My dear, yes it was supposed to be you. And so you have won. And no one can take that feeling away from you. What else others say, except for the compliments, doesn’t matter 😉.

“Be curious, not judgemental “- Walt Whitman. This advice is for us to keep in mind. But what shall you do when someone else is the judge and you’re the one being judged. You ignore them – as simple as that. You know yourself better than anyone else. You know your gilt edge and you know your shortcomings. And keep this in the back of your mind : if lions were to be bothered by what the jackals thought, then the lion would be less of a king. Agreed? .

Let’s talk : #2

Well, this happens quite a lot with us. A little rift and we have a whole lot of eyes wondering if we’ll pass through it or not. Sometimes, they question, so much so that we end up questioning ourselves of our capability. But trust me, they don’t know your efficiency. They don’t know what you’re capable of. Your failures give rise to newer hopes. And let me conclude this by citing the very recent example Chandrayan 2, which is nothing but a success on its own even though ‘Vikram ‘ couldn’t land on its alloted spot. It’s a proud moment for all of us, dreamers who would not lose heart after the first attempt and work harder toward their goal.

“It’s tougher hiding desolation behind a smile rather than being depressed on the surface.”

They say “No matter what keep smiling”. At times, however, enveloping sadness behind a smile is the toughest job on earth.
